Nursing Students Lead the Way to Healthy Relationships
Under the supervision of Karen Singleton, a group of University of Louisville nursing students conducted a Healthy Relationship workshop for the benefit of the women in our Sober Living Program at the mission’s Hotel Louisville. God made us social beings; we were created for community, unfortunately, many people do not understand the dynamics of strong, healthy relationships. Keys to healthy relationships include mutual respect, conflict resolution, communication skills, respecting the privacy of others, and mutual support. Unhealthy relationships can lead to depression, physical violence, divorce, and abandonment. We are grateful to these amazing nursing students for leading our recovery women through the ins and outs of building and maintaining healthy relationships.
