Her name is Hope Davis, a recent graduate from Brown Mackie College, who, in accordance with her school’s externship policy, volunteered her time and talents teaching at Wayside Christian Mission’s Hotel Louisville. Because of her extensive work history in hotels and nursing homes, she conducted back to back safety training classes for the benefit of the hotel’s staff and management. Ms. Davis is well aware of the hazards common in the hospitality trade—hazards from misusing equipment, mishandling cleaning chemicals, and health hazards from heat, improper ventilation, and dehydration—and offered sound safety solutions in her teaching presentations. Hotel Louisville takes the safety of its guests and staff seriously. We conduct safety training classes every month.
A native Californian and mother of two, Hope is weighing her future options. With a business degree coupled with practical work experiences, she feels confident in finding her place in the workforce. She is also thinking of furthering her education. With her knowledge, experience, and leadership skills, we believe she will do well regardless of the direction she chooses. We are grateful to Hope Davis for giving us two excellent safety presentations.
