Hotel Louisville is a hub of excitement--a place where dreams are born and opportunities come alive!
It’s Tea Time at Wayside’s Hotel Louisville
Tea is the most widely consumed drink in the world. Enjoyed hot or cold, the Chinese may have initially consumed tea for its believed medicinal qualities. Today, tea is enjoyed by health-conscious fanciers who tout the benefits of their beverage of choice. Founded in 1945, the R.C. Bigelow Tea Company offers a wide variety of gourmet teas including everyone’s favorite, Constant Comment. Bigelow packages their tea in Louisville—which makes their tea a true local favorite among discriminating tea drinkers.
For several years, R.C. Bigelow Tea has also been a friend of Wayside Christian Mission. Besides frequently donating large quantities of tea for the enjoyment of our six hundred resident clients, the company has supported our work with generous monetary donations. Thad Judy, Human Resources Manager, and Chad Tennant, Louisville Plant Manager, have become “regulars” here at the mission. Each is known and well-liked by staff and clients.
Recently, Chad Tennant and Thad Judy came with Janned Serrano, Corporate Executive Assistant and Community Relations Coordinator, for a tour of the mission’s Hotel Louisville. Ms. Serrano, who is from the firm’s Connecticut office, learned that Hotel Louisville is a fully functioning hotel that also serves as a transitional living shelter as well as a training facility. Many of the mission’s clients have found work in the hospitality trade after gaining valuable hands-on hotel experience. As a corporate donor, Bigelow Tea shares in the mission’s success. We are grateful to all of our corporate supporters who, like our individual donors and volunteers, help make this life-saving work possible.
"I recently stayed at Hotel Louisville and was very impressed. The first thing I noticed was ample, convenient parking. Then, upon entering the hotel, I was greeted by a friendly, helpful staff. It was refreshing to see such efficient, pleasant workers. My room was very clean and restful. The bed was one of the most comfortable ones that I have ever slept on in a hotel. The food was delicious. As a matter of fact, it was so good that I ate all my meals there during my 5-day stay in Louisville. The prices were very reasonable—a real bargain! I have already recommended Hotel Louisville to several of my friends, and I will definitely stay there again when my travels take me back there. " Lisa B Tulsa OK
