Homelessness is a multifaceted problem with no easy answers; however, education is one way of breaking the poverty cycle. Our friends from Sullivan University agree. Recently, Hazel Sullivan organized a backpack donation drive for the benefit of the boys and girls in the care of Wayside Christian Mission. Each child received a new backpack filled with school supplies recommended by the Jefferson County Public Schools. Forty backpacks were delivered with a promise of additional school supplies if needed. We want our Wayside kids to have what they need to succeed in school—and thanks to our good friends from Sullivan University, our kids are off to a good start!
